Agreed Valuation
I have just received a letter from Adrian Flux saying that the valuation i gave them is £1000 over what the car is worth
Has anyone else had this happen to them
Is it a regular thing that happens with A/ Flux ?

Been with them on a few policies and never had them query an agreed-value.

doubt it will be Flux as they are only a broker, more likely to be the insurance company you are with. I've heard its getting harder to get a
decent agreed value

then if the vehicle is £1000 less then they must adjust their premuim to reflect this?

That's quite worrying been with Adrian Flux 4 years now with an agreed value, sent my forms of the other week and haven't heard anything
yet.

What A/Flux do is put your photos in front of a valuation board and decide what its worth if you dont agree with them you can get a Independent
engineers value and come to some arrangement with A/ Flux

Is your value realistic? Have you just added up the total of the parts? or gone by sold/for sale values from ebay/autotrader etc?

cant see why theyd argue about a grand, its not the sort of amount that would really affect a premium... 50k vs 30k yes...

Finally received mine back and guess what £1000 less than i asked for don't think i was being unrealistic with the value.
I can appeal but will need an independent engineers report to do so, my big problem is when i rang around the year i turboed it flux were the only
ones that would quote me.

Was it an independent valuation or just you writing it? I'd suggest you get an independent valuation.
I used to take my car to Paul Matty (Paul Matty Sportscars, Bromsgrove, Birmingham) for a signed independent valuation for insurance purposes. He has
authority through many years specialist car dealership and the MSA. If he thought he knew enough about the car, he'd agree to give his
independent valuation in return for a donation to their chosen charity (min £10 or £20 as I recall). He probably still does it. He was quite strict
and wouldn't allow anyone to influence his valuation.
As such I thought his word might have some authority and the insurers never challenged it. But then again I never had to put it to the test.
Whoever does it, you should present the car in its best showroom condition.
