Throttle cables
Hi all
im matt and ive just signed up on here
I bought myself an MK Indy last week after borrowing my girlfriends dads fisher fury to enter a race in, i just had to have one myself!!
a couple of days after getting it the throttle cable ended up snapping and im not sure where to get a new one from!
it is 1.7meters long
has a 6mm eye on one end (to go over a bolt on the bottom of the peddle)
and has a lead barrel nipple on the other end to go the the throttle on a 919 fireblade engine
can anyone help me out? even a universal 'make it yourself' kit would be enough!
its just bodged together atm so i could get it home!
thanks!

Not used them myself (yet), but most on the forum recommend speedycables (www.speedycables.com).

Try your local motorcycle shop, mine has made cables for me for mx bikes, karts, law mowers and all sorts. Take old one with you for a pattern.

Mine uses a push bike rear brake cable, no point making it expensive, in the old days for long runs you cut down a hillman imp cable.

Throttle cables break because the pedal is pulling the cable taught at full throttle, the pedal movement should only pull the throttle to 99%
open not 101% or even 100%.

Thanks for the replies.
I've tried a brake cable, the barrel nipple is too big though. It could be filed down to fit if needs be I guess....
As for the reason why it snapped. Indeed you are right, the first thing I did was make an adjustable pedal stop. It was only a couple of days after
buying it
