Steering Rack
Hi,
I need to order a steering rack (Escort Mk2) but not sure if I should go for 2.9 or 2.4 ratio or best place to order from?
Any thoughts on type or supplier greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I have a 2.9 on my Sylva Riot and it's fine for me. It's really down to personal taste and how quick you want the steering to be and what
you're going to do with the car i.e. road or track use.
I got mine from Rally Design at a car show (they may have show discounts available).

I've also used a Rally Design 2.9 and was very happy with it. I'd go with the same again if I needed another.
As above, the ratio is very much down to personal preference and what you'll use the car for.

I also have a rallydesign 2.9 rack on my car with a 13” steering wheel , plenty quick enough for the road without being too heavy or sensitive.

If your not in a hurry Rallydesign should be at Stoneleigh, parts are normally cheaper there.

different question
rack ratio - 2.9, what means? one rotation wheel = 2.9" rack travel?
or its means lock to lock 2.9 turns, but what distance rack travels?
trying to figure out what ratio I have / what kit car use.
i put the different rack, rack have big travel but also wheel rotate a lot of, want compare
now i have ~14 steering ratio, thinking go for~12
