Over 50's Insurance??

The current tin-top insurers (Admiral) are trying to hike the renwal price by 45% over last year.
Whilst its still affordable I really don't want to pay more than necessary.
I've tried a lot of the usual suspects and eSure flex seem to be the most competitive.
Anyone have any experience of insuring with them please?
Any other suggestions gratefully received.
TIA, Pewe

I always re quote on Money Supermarket. Always get competitive prices and has the edge over Meerkats.com

Use the comparison sites. You probably need to keep clearing cookies or use private browsing so they don't edge the prices up as you try changing occupation etc (most can change their occupation legitimately as their job can e described in many ways)
It is all a bit of a long winded game, but can be worthwhile.
I am currently with Aviva, loads cheaper than anybody else. But each year I have to check.

That's exactly what go compare etc are there for...

I change my insurers every year and it takes only a few moments.

Saga gave me good prices for the first 2 years, but crept up so when I renewed last time I moved. Might be worth a look?

Had good prices from Admiral, Darwin & LV in the past, currently with Saga & actually stayed with them with 1 car this year as it had barely changed since last year. I would never, ever use More Than again, unless the insurance was either free or they paid me! Absolutely dreadful experience & utterly incompetent.

As already said, use the comparison sites, what's better on one for a specific person may be worse for another so, if you can be bothered, try them all. Once you have a price, always worth talking to existing insurer as sometimes they will match or better the quote

Good luck, it's a faff!

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

Never mind 50's, I'm 70's and usually take advice from the Martin Lewis money site. The last 6 years has meant an annual swap from Aviva to Direct Line except the last two years where I have found a quote from Go Compare has undercut Aviva's own quote. I've a 2015 180bhp EAT6 DS4 and with protected bonus and business use (I only work a couple of weeks each year) It has just cost £240 to renew for a year. I shall keep trying the same next year

Thanks guys.
Lots of food for thought.
I think the fact I'm trying to put my three adult kids on might be affecting the quotes I'm receiving. Two are currently between jobs so I reckon that's not helping.
Sheila's Wheels are looking good as I've delved more into Esure Flex and their rating for claim response is fairly low.
