Autocad 3D or Solidworks
Which one's the best? And anyone know how much they are?
I've got the chance to go on a course to learn one of them and need to choose which one.
Cheers

AutoCAD 3D is total crap...complete waste of time.
Mechanical desktop OTOH is far better, and SW is better still.
AutoCAD's 3D is really a joke TBH compared to real solid modellers....You can't do any real work with without a bunch of 3rd party
add-ons....why they even include the 3D features are beyond me, when they have mech desktop and Inventor within their product offering.

Solidworks is better than Autocad IMO. Very easy and simple to get to grips with. Creates nice looking 3d models and 2d drawings.
Not sure about prices. Both are very pricey though!

Autocrap 3D (daft detailing dynamic????) is a pain in the but.
Solidworks is a gem of a package.
As for cost, both are available for the same price on certain sites if you catch my drift.
I use Solidworks at work so have access to a full updated legal copy. Some of the rip-offs I've seen have been without some of the toolbox /
extended features .... check before you get to carried away.
Go for the latest version you can as it will open stuff done on the older versions but they may well not open stuff done on later versions if you know
what I mean.

My vote goes for solidowrks without a doubt. I use it for my day job day in day out, and it is probably the easiest to learn 3D CAD package that I
have ever seen. Really nice to use.
Before I starte dthe job I have now, I tried a few bits of software, then managed to find a dodgy copy of Solidworks, that I used to learn my way
round it, before getting the Job I have now.
The best place for AutoCAD is in the bin I reckon!

Autodesk Inventor is just as good as solid works. But autocad shoul be kept for 2d only.
I'm sure I've got one, just don't know where I've put it

I would go for Solidworks any day.
I have used both and used to use Solidworks regularly, now use CATIA.
You can get copies of solidworks in certain places!

SOLIDWORKS for sure, can do everything autocad can do and loads more.
no more difficult to learn either.
