Decals

Hi ,

Does anyone no a good program for designing some decals for the indy im trying to use Macromedia fireworks but with little success, does anyone have any tips or do i just need to figure it out for myself

Are you talking about decals as in vinyl ones? If so Corel Draw is good for this sort of thing.

The best software is signlab but at £5000 for the basic option, don't go there - alternatively I use Corel Draw as my 'backup' program when all else fails. Does the job - very simple and they'll be almost cut ready for the signwriter (always nice to have vectored graphics).

Photoshop is capable of producing some very groovy graphics.

Yes it is mate but not ones that are vectorised for a vinyl cutter - the newer version of Photoshop is capable of vectors but primarily is aimed at rasterised (BMP or jpg) images.

If you sent me a jpg, I'd have to trace it (lot of time consuming artwork) which would cost if it was a pain to do.
