matt budget a couple of hundred quid for your donor bits and MK stock quite a bit

youll need some recon stuff for brakes aswell unless you buy expensive new

youll also need a non power steering rack
of a bog standard sierra

Do you not want to go the donor car route?

We paid £150 for ours! knowing very little about how the car works let alone comes apart, you learn alot along the way.

You also have the option of a age related plate.

Just bought another donor a xr4x4 with a lsd in, once the car is finished we will strip this for the next project or if we want the lsd route.

Go for the donor car it makes it even more fun.

Cheers chris,
Noticed that some parts need to be modified by mk. Can i just buy the already modifed parts from mk instead of buying non modifed parts from the scrappy and then having to take them to get them modified?

Cheers buddy

Its not the first time i have heard that Chris, although i know a fair amount of people who have bec's and have got age related plates, I think it depends on the DVLA Centre its self.

I bought all my donor bits from MK, with the required bits modified by them at the same time as I bought the kit. Think they only charged me £150 on top of the normal price. All the bits needed cleaning up but that wasnt too bad, using electrolysis made it a lot quicker.

For the amount of hassle it saves I think it makes sense, I couldnt be arsed having a rusting sierra sitting on my drive, trying to pull bits off it!

I think paul means he bought

ie the deluxe kit £2500 etc

then paid £150 for the donor bits on top
there prices may have gone up a bit since then though matt

Sounds like a good price?

Will they be a pile of rusty parts or will they be in good condition?
