R1 5PW clutch switch

Now whilst i know you have to bridge this for it to start in gear i also notice one of the wires 't's off to the ecu. Having spoken to a couple of people they seem to think that when the clutch is disengaged the ecu is made aware and lowers the rev limiter as theres no need to rev as high as clutch is in. (deep breath). Therefore if you just bridge the wires it will make less horsepower, so i can only assume best thing to do is bridge the two at the switch and cut the one going to the ecu.
Anyone have a barking clue about this????

My 5PW wiring antics are a little hazy now but Im pretty sure I just bridged mine. Might be worth doing a search of my posts about 3 years ago when I first installed the engine as I may have posted up some more detail.

Not heard the reduced RPM theory before though, certainly mine revs out to the red line and kicked out nearly 140bhp at the rear wheels on a RR session a couple of years ago
