Got my new tiger avon rack at the weekend direct from tiger racing and supprise supprise it didn't fit So i had to fabricate a new set of mounts. I'm sick of doing things twice on this project beccause of wrong or missing measurements in the book The book says the mounts should be 280mm appart but the brackets on my rack are 285mm so either the book is wrong or tiger steerig racks are wrong I hope this will be of help to other avoneers at the same stage as me.
I'm not blind I'm just following the book plans!
I think that was my biggest mistake
I am sorry for you
Can't help, I modified suspension and I did not have steering rack from tiger
I will save you a lot of time and effort by telling you to bury that book in as deep a hole you can find its not worth the paper its printed on ,even
jim at tiger admits its the bane of his life and distances him self from any involvement with it which is an excuse he uses to pass the buck when you
inevitably come across a multitude of small problems.
Not that i,m bitter
I'd blame the to55er who welded the chassis up
See ya at work tomorrow!
Regards
Rich
bury the book, too glossy for toilet paper
Burn it , it'll keep you warm
Or show it to your friends and tell them what
a fantastic job you've done building your car
despite all its hindrance.
No !
Sod it just burn it

I like the book,
Only the measurements are useless!
If some can build a Avon exactly by those measurements the car would like ****
So I stopped reading and build my own
grtz
The measurements are wrong in the book.
When my mate rang Jim, he said that because their chassis was so cheap, he never expected anyone to actually build one from the book!
Need I say any more ?
