i have a r1 powered mac 1 kit, when changing up or down in any gear there is a lound horrible clonk from the rear of the car, has anyone had this
fault or can anyone advise on the fault or solution?
Quite normal with a BEC. You can cut the sound a bit with a TRT prop.

Do not worry, as you master driving it you can reduce the clunk greatly.
clutchless changes going up, and lifting the revs slightly using the clutch on the way down.

You will always get the clonk with a bec but a TRT prop improves it.
Dont get it from autoprop they are rubbish

and the quality and service is excellent unlike autoprop!

normal mine very loud clonk due to slack in diff.
Agree it's normal...but check your prop bolts are tight anyway.

A quality firm.
If it were mine, id look at a cush drive flange at the diff, and taking out the backlash in the diff with shims etc. Thats after id adjusted the
clutch to make sure it doesnt drag.
I dont know a great deal about BEC's but when you select first on a bike you often get a clonk if the chain is slightly slack or the clutch drags
a little.
I knew a guy who had a clunk!
Turned out to be his diff was loose in the cradle. He didnt build it some one elses oversight.
just out of interest what is a TRT prop? is that a rubber jointed one instead of uj's?
