It's a starter motor, am I missing something?

It goes the right direction. Good price, however I got mine for £1.70 for s/h one

Right direction if fixed in the tunell with the nose against the diff input flange?

I suppose it's a good price, paid £30 for mine at the breakers which was a bit steep. Did a test run on mine with some bodged up brackets & it works ok, just a bit noisy. Got my proper brackets finished the other day, hope to have it installed at the w/e. A lot of effort to jump through another bloody IVA hoop.
