Hi everyone,
The question is about the handling on a live axled BEC.
At the front I have 185/60 R13" on 6" wide wheel... for the rear it's better to have a 7" or a 8" wide wheel for 205/60
R13" tyres?I currently have 8" wheels and the grip is very good but I've clearance problems with the rear arches so I'm thinking
to swap a 7".
There is a perceptible handling difference between 7" or 8" wheels?(similar offset)
Can't imagine it would make any difference myself, especially as the tyre size is not changing.
Al
8" is beyond the ideal width range for a 205/60 normally tyre manufacturers list 7.5" as the maximum.
7" is close to ideal.
Yes, I read the reccomended size by Toyo and Yokohama and you're absolutely right, but I cannot explain myself why many locosters here have the 8
inch rear wheels and also Caterham use 8x13" wheels for the R500 with 205/55 tyres.
Aestheic reasons?maybe live axle/de dion cars have some benefit going wider on the rear?
As for me I bought the car so.
