Im having to fit an air ride on the front of my mrs mk1 golf as I have speed humps in my street and im looking for a good forum for advice on what parts I need to buy and where to get them cheep.

VW forum would be your best bet, although prob avoid poo like e38 as they just get their wallets out and have someone else do it...
i bought stuff from the states when i did it, Newmatics Inc was the company. dead expensive though. sold the stuff as i wanted to make a fast car, not a poser car
can't you just raise the suspension a bit? yeah i wouldn't get away with saying that on a VW forum...
