so i have some rear arches i want to attached to my rear panel.

i notice people have a rubber rim between the arch and rear panel.

Has anyone got a guide to fitting these on and how to make them look nice.

the panels are GRP panels and are all cleaned up with the extra fibreglass removed so they look tidy.

Any help woudl be good thanks.

I thought of just epoxying and attaching with a few nut n bolts with washers but im sure there is a better way.

underpaid over worked muppet.

You want some wing beading with a nice large flange to fit between the wing and body.

Something like this:

I just used the machine screws that held on the wing to clamp it in place.

Some would recomend rivnuts and sandwich beading between panels.
It is suprising once fully built how many panels you wish were removable

MIne are bolted through the rear panel and side with 6mm nuts and bolts and p shaped beading.

Yep, definitely best to bolt and put the beading between

But I would suggest getting JackNuts instead of Rivnuts...

I used rivnuts and tadpole beading, using 4 bolts each side.

Just thought I'd add that I've never wanted to remove my rear wings (been on for 6 years).

Mine are riveted on with beading between.

Mine are bolted 6mm plus penny washers, and has 5mm body tape to fill the small gap, (body tape to stick rubber to door frames on cars)

I suppose you could use draft excluder, but that is normally white

I did have home made p strip, but it got tatty

Funny - I thought machine screws, washers and nuts would be removeable?? None of your fancy rivnuts or jacknuts for me...

A tip I heard, from a racer but it could also help on a steet car, it you ever snag a fender on something, is to hold the fenders on with those plastic/nylon bolts you see, sometimes on motorcycle fairing screens.

Then if it is tagged it is likely to just break loose, rather than tearing, so easier to repair.
