Aren't the Jag and the Aston it's possing as based on the same plat form anyway?

I think its actually pretty clever. Take a mainstream and turn it into the "supercar" version that is built on the same platform.
Unlike some GRP conversions the wheels will be in the right place, there won't be problems with lights, and the proportions will be perfect, and
there will be minimal cutting and stuff. So as an engineering exercise it sounds good.
Personally GRP body conversions are not my cup-of-tea.

Actually the Aston shown in the vid was based on the XJS IIRC.
But the basic point of the kit is a bit void - the Jag is a nice enough car in it's own right. Save the money on the kit and just buy an XKR
instead.
I'll tell you what kills the idea of such things stone dead for me.
A friend of a friend is in the fortunate position of owning the originals of some of the replicas in that page.
I wouldn't be so presumptious as to suggest that me and this bloke are mates, but we're certainly on talking terms and I've spoken cars
with him on a few occasions and admired one or two brand new out of the wrapper supercars which he has.
I can think of nothing more shamefull than trucking up in a cheap knock off copy and attempting to be proud of it in such company. It's
pretending to be something it's not.
Then there's all the folk I meet at competitive events, many of whom have some pretty trick stuff. It's all there.
A plasticked up MR2 or even a Jag pretending it's something it's not, well you couldn't honestly hold your head up, could you.
These things aren't for car people like us. They're for folks who know nothing about cars other than 'it looks nice'.
If you want an Aston, have one.
If you can't afford a real one, you can't have one at all.

If its a vanquish replica, why did they show footage of the DB7 drifting at the beginning?
Would get a bit repetative when the old bill pull you all the time as what they are seeing and what the vehicle PNC check brings back are 2 totally
different cars 
DB7's are down to £16K now, not worth bothering in this country.
I,ve been looking out for a 3.2 manual one for a while now to chop my XK8 in on. Probally a mistake as the XK8 is a better car but I had a manual XJS
which I prefered over the auto ones I owned, you cannot get manual XK8's.

I think he was saying that sticking a plastic body on something was 'wrong' rather than replicas like the Stratos/cobra/seven, stuff which
have new chassis and a different mechanical layout to the donor (And there are many of them that don't use donors at all).
I'd much rather buy a completely new design of body and weirdly very few people make anything like that anymore.
