Mondeo diesel fuel connections?
Chippy - 27/12/09 at 11:09 PM

Hi, anybody help with the connections shown on the attached, as to where they go to. Obviously one is fuel in, and one return, but which is which, and where does the third one go. Coloured Red, White and Green. Cheers Ray

white - fuel in
red - fuel return
green - inlet manifold pressue (lets the injection pump know when the turbos on boost)

Thanks for that. One thing though, does this mean that the GREEN connects to the inlet manifold somewhere? Cheers Ray

hi
if its not on the inlet manifold it will be on the
turbo.(air outlet)
you can put a tee piece in this pipe and connect a boost gauge.
there is a diaphragm inside the injector pump
that can leak,i have driven a mondeo with this
pipe blocked off with no noticeable loss of performance.
your engine has a very early injection pump =
sierra?
did you chose it it to avoid the ecu and alloy sump of the later endura-de?
did you modify your sump?

Hi redscamp, I actually have two of these engines, they are for fitting in my boat, and were purchased running, but I didn't remove them so a bit lost on the connections. They are proper marine convertions so I guess that the builders chose the type of pump fitted, (they are both the same). Both have alloy sumps, but one is older than the other, and has a seperate belt driven water pump, rather than one driven by the timing belt. There is, as far as I can see, no place to connect the GREEN connection to the turbo, or the inlet manifold, so at a bit of a loss there. Cheers Ray
