I have a fully registered installation VAG COM for such things

Although, I guess that sort of locks me into VAG products

Not used one but it's pretty much a must have thing now. Tutor told me that on some cars you need to tell the ecu that you've changed a bulb! In this case anything you've fixed won't work cos the car doesn't know it's there.
