Got a problem with a Bora, anyone have any insight?
If you go over about 80 it loses all power then and afterards, as if turbo is off boost all the time. Everything seems to return to normal if you
turn off the ignition and restart.
Looked at the live data from the OBD2 and noticed that the value from the MAP sensor never changes at 72.2 in/Hg. Also when the loss occurs the %load
value drops to 0%
MAF sensor looks normal and output varies with rpm from about 1.5 to 7 lbs/min
Any thoughts?? i'm thinking MAP sensor.
if its not the maf it's the actuator arm on the turbo sticking causing overboost(i've had it before), some places will say a new turbo but you can have yours fixed, its a curved arm that wears down with friction.
VNT or dump valve?
Check the small valve (name escapes me?) just after the boost delivery hose just as it enters the inlet maifold, right at the back near the bulhead as
your looking into the engine bay. Its some sort of vaccum operated valve (fed off that ball reseviour at the front of the engine) which prevents the
rattling when you switch off the engine. Mine has stuck closed a few times as it gets gummed up with residue. Feels like the turbo's fallen off
when it jams

re-reading your question without the aid of beer....
If the map is static, i guess the ems must be running the engine of maf readings - surprised it isn't flagging a fault - might be interesting to
see what happens with the maf disconnected (it shouldn't run obviously).
I'd go with your original analysis and change the map sensor, at least rule it out...
good suggestions all, it doesn't show any faults.
