12v digital tele

Hi Guys,

I'm doing a favour for my old man and researching portable television to go in his cab.

he's found this one which seems to do everything and more, therefore I'm dubious of it:

any other recommendations?

Criteria are:

runs from 12v
good quality digital reception
largest screen possible
affordable

he does *not* require dvd playback or to be able to play games

Interesting, might be looking for something similar for our eriba puck caravan let us know how it goes.. Might be worth looking through some caravan forums (If you put up looking though them that is!)..

The other option is an old laptop and a freview usb stick.

The aerial is going to be the limiting factor on reception though.

Maybe you can consider a Mio Moov with DVB-T. So you'll have GPS + TV

Is this a truck cab? In which case it might need to be 24v... The laptop idea sounds good to me, then he can watch some dvds...

Im late on this thread too so i expect you have it sorted now (what did you get?) but there are a number of thread on my forum at CanalWorld.net discussing suitable 12v TVs for narrowboat.

Although often, but they time you have bought a 12v voltage regulator and limited yourself to a handfull of TVs, the inveter route becomes quite attactive.
