Afternoon all,

I know there are some knowledgable chaps on here, so perhaps someone might know a bit about this. Our Fabia vRS (2007 model) has recently started having an intermittent problem with the idle speed. Most days it is fine, but occasionally, the idles speed will sit at anywhere between where it should be, and baout 1700rpm. It is quite steady, and doesn't hunt about at all, and quite often goes if you tap the accelerator pedal briefly. Most of the time it is up around 1100rpm when it does it.

Any ideas? I was wondering if it was something to do with the TPS, but wanted a few opinions before telling the service guys to sort it out when it next goes in for a service...

Sounds like the throttle body houseing needs clean with carb cleaner spindle pivots
