Jaguar X-Type... come on - it's not that bad!

Bluemoon - 3/2/10 at 01:18 PM

Ford Model T 2 worst!! Load of rubish, like you had a big choice at the time!

Most of the British cars on the list were modified to ruination to meet US requirements.....

sucksqueezebangblow - 3/2/10 at 01:43 PM

Apart from the Model T the list is spot on.

I particularly like the inclusion of the prowler and the H2 both great examples of the American penchant for contrived cars, cars trying to be something they're not. Land Rover's gone the same way switching from 4x4s to SUV's. Come to think of it; that was Fords influence, and they're the ones that fu*ked up the X Type. I wonder if that's why every big American car company is going down the toilet fast!

MGA
Jaguar E type
Triumph stag

That list is a little crap imho

Horizenjob - 3/2/10 at 03:02 PM

The list was thought to be crap on the locostusa site. I think from the publisher's point of view it is a more successful article if it's controversial - generates more traffic etc.

Just rubbish... ( trying to learn English and can't wait till I get to say "knackered" )

atm92484 - 3/2/10 at 03:21 PM

I could make a list of 50 crappy American made cars since 1980. Coming up with 50 from all countries since the beginning of the automobile is cheating.

You like cars that blow up when in a minor rear end shunt? (it's the car not the engine )

These polls are really rubbish.

I once decided to vote for the best song ever as channel four was doing a top 100.

I logged on and I had to select from a list of 105. So. of course, my song was nowhere!!

It was written with a huge amount of tongue in cheek, and has to be taken with a ginormous pinch of salt - it was clearly written to provoke a heated discussion or two.

If you read his words, he said that the versions of the MG A and the E type were great cars - until they 'upgraded' the engines. As for the Stag - everyone says that the V8 engine was a load of rubbish, cobbled together from 2 in-line 4's.

I think his view of the British cars is quite accurate...

I have a sneaky suspicion that the author is either British, or an ex-pat Brit - his way of writing is very 'UK car magazine journo'.

hicost blade - 3/2/10 at 10:40 PM

I could easily write a list of 2010 crap yank tanks, the bloke who came up with this is obviously a wannabe journo Jeremy Clarkson know it all type aka a t**t

MGA doesn't even have to work properly; it’s a work of art

David Jenkins - 4/2/10 at 09:01 AM

IIRC the author owns (or owned) a MGA with the earlier engine - and he loves/loved it. It was only the later engine that he complained about (maybe fitted for the US market?)

But anyway - lighten up, everyone! It's only one guy's opinion, to accept or deny according to your preference...

Got a few people talking though, didn't it!

"In August of this year, the Texas company that controls the rights to the name announced it will build a small number of new DMC-12's. How's that for time travel?"

Hmmm, new Saab or new Delorian?
