i need to get my smashed up corsa taken away as the third party insurers haven't bothered.
which part of the V5 do i have to get the scrappy to sign and what part do i send away to the DVLA to say that the car is being destroyed?
cheers
Don't think the scrappy has to sign anything. You just need to tick the vehicle scrapped box, sign and date it and send it away.
Unless you're getting money for it from the scrappy, I'd write them a sharpish letter demanding they remove it or you will start charging the for storage....

Have you been paid out ?
I had this, No sooner had it been squashed than the third party insurance wanted to re view the car.
The result, Not only did I not get paid out but my Insurance backed down and paid them out and denied ever saying I could get rid of the car.

ive been paid and cashed the cheque, its cleared and in my account!
i just want rid of the car, i've stripped it completely and all the parts are in a big box waiting to go on ebay
they somtimes leave it 4 weeks then come to get the car and if anything is missing from the car that they paid for by paing out they bill you ,as for
storage you cant bill them unless its in a place they agread to have it stored in .
contact them telling them it needs to be removed and note down the time date and who you spoke to full name before you scrap it .
a stripped corsa will still be £50 by weight at a proper yard
I got £85 the other week for a B reg nova at the local scrap yard. Seems the price of un-depoluted cars has gone up a bit.
If you have been paid out it doesn't belong to you any more it belongs to them and they can cause all sorts of problems.
I presume you've cashed in the tax disc as I don't believe they own that, but that big box of bits doesn't belong to you unless you
bought back the car.
Demand the remove it asap or get it in writing that you can dispose of it.
