every time I find a set of seats for the right money they are at the other end of the country - and the seller wants cashs on collection and
won't post them
most of the ones I've asked won't even let me send a courier to collect them
I just found another set - and guess what - they are in wales
linky (havn't ask this guy yet
though....)
it can't be that difficult to post them at the buyers expence !
(I'm just ranting btw - I don't realy expect any answers)

The problem with sending in couriers to collect is that you have to have someone in all day from 9am to 5.30pm as they can never guarantee when the
driver will pick up.
Ask yourself, would you want to do that? Could you do that? My wife hates it when I arrange couriers.
And there's the wrapping and the responsibility of it. Half you got half a mile of cardboard, bubble wrap and tape to hand? OK maybe you do, but
does the seller? I sold something, the buyer then said 'Post it to me' And I had to try and find enough card to wrap it, and wrap it well.
And it used two rolls of tape. Not something I enjoyed doing. Hence why i said COLLECTION ONLY. But some people are too stupid to see that, or too
ignorant to ask beforehand.
And what happens if the seats get damaged? Regardless of if they are insured, have you tried claiming on postal insurance? I have, its not fun.
So thats another reason why some people, myself included, do not want to post large, awkward, expensive items
Sounds fair enough to me, wrapping seats is going to be a PTA and he will be responsible if they get damaged
I also refuse to let anyone arrange a courier if I sell something on ebay. Last time I did the bloke sent the courier round before he had paid and I
sent them away.
Though if its something thats just small but heavy I will always try and send it via courier that I arrange.
Plus like others have said, its a lot of work to wrap/package something like seats so a courier will take them. And someone has to be in so they can
be collected.
I guess my real rant should be: "why don't more people in scotland have s/h elise seats for sale with the runners"
its just a bit frustrating watching loads of them sell 400 miles away at a good price - and there don't seem to be any up here

Ask Shiply for quotations for doing the job.
I recently had a set of leather seats lifted by a courier (and the seats were not wrapped in anything) and delivered to Stevenage. The courier arrived
at the time they said they would, uplifted the seats, phoned to say that they would be with me in 15 minutes, arrived and dropped off the seats, got
paid for the job, and 'Robert's your mothers brother'

Might be worth asking on here if anyones moving around the country in the right direction. A lot of people travel for work, uni, love (?) etc.
Either that or a local forum member might be prepared to collect and ship to you for some beer money - not sure I'd be up for it though
Just think - when you do find some near you they will be cheaper as no-one else will be able to collect!
The other option is to try and find a specialist breakers, who will charge more, but will probably be able to ship them....
I have to say, great choice of seat for the Dax, ours were super comfortable, you will have to adjust the runners to make them narrower and if you
want to be able to move the seat more than about an inch you'll have to grind some of the side of the seat away (not hard)
