Be careful, a mate of mine once took a German registered BMW in lieu of a debt.
When he tried to register it, the DVLA said he couldn't as it wasn't type approved for the UK.
he will get the paperwork sent over,he wasnt thinking of selling the car till he saw me looking at it and we got chatting
What is it?
James.
German ??
prob BMW trash
over rated over priced and
OVER HERE
If its cheap enough to warrent the hassle of getting it all transfered over to UK details etc then go for it...
If its not, dont bother.
I think there's something to do with the number plates being a bigger part of the registration system than here. I had a Saab 900 that I sold, a
German woman living over here wanted to buy it to replace here German registered 900 that had been written off in a smash. She said she had to remove
the plates & send them back to prove she no longer owned the car & that she'd scrapped it.
A couple of weeks later in my local scrappy I saw a LHD 900 with substantial front damage & no plates.
it,s a mazda mx5 steve (no jokes please) but it,s cheap and mint
this is the German V5. Not to confuse with
that
The first one is the Fahrzeugbrief, the second the Fahrzeugschein. They are different in Size F-Brief= ca. A5(folded), F-Schein ca. Passport size
(folded) because you need to have it with you all the time.
hope that helps cheers Volker
