If your car fails on a couple of items and you get these done at that garage within the time period do they do a complete retest or just check the items it failed on?

StrikerChris - 13/2/10 at 03:08 PM

there is a timescale between what needs retesting.not sure exactly but if its a couple of days they're meant to retest certain things,up to a full retest(i think 2 weeks).chances are if the garage is doing the work they wont bother tho.personally i do all the work myself but if i couldn't i wouldn't have my car mot'd at a place that does the repair, too many dodgy fails just to get work and labour imho

just the things failed on

Hi Guys,

My understanding is that they will always do an emissions check when they do the re-test.

My was done on the tintop after a screen change for a chip on the way to the first test.....

it all depends on what your car failed on thay can do a fast track test for small things but if its any thing like brakes or emitions it has to loged on as a full test

Mine failed on all the brake tests and that's all they tested when I returned the next day after I'd fitted new pads and discs all round, took 5 mins.

No it is loged on as a partial re-test

if its not a fast track
