........with normal tyres.

Is the wheel specific to runflats or can I simply replace with standard tyres ?
It's a Mini One.

Ask you local tyre place, but I would guess the wheel would be the same, If not try and swap it for a non runflat version.

Yes you can simply replace them with "normal" tyres - Just make sure you are doing all 4 at once.

It also slightly alters the way the car feels. It will ofcourse feel less harsh through rough surfaces, but you do lose some of that intial turn in.

After reading the Horror of the week forum, I'd avoid run flats at all costs

No, you could change to standard tyres and carry a jack, spare etc...

And get better ride and handling, cheaper tyres and the ability to repair minor punctures rather than having to buy a new tyre. I know which I prefer...

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of them. I drive an MSport with runflats and lowered, stiffened suspension and it rattles your teeth on most road surfaces. Unfortunately it's a lease car and they won't let you swap for regular tyres.

wasnt there an issue with insurance if you change the tyres from runflats? I could be wrong though, i usually am!

Do you have to have a spare tyre/runflats/repair stuff? Is it the law?
