whilst its too cold to work in the garage i am trting to get things doen that i can do in the house, and polishing my ali side panels is one of them

what is the best ali polish out there that will give a mirror finish? i don't particularly want to be spending hours on these either.

All the best

Alex

ALU-Magic leaves wax behind and protects even wheels Frosts £9.50. Trev D put me onto this.

Belgoms very good wax based so shine lasts a very long time. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BELGOM-ALU-METAL-POLISH-CUSTOM-CLASSIC-RESTORATION_W0QQitemZ260514041497QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Motorcycle_Parts?hash=item3ca7d8ce 99

Good links need to polish mine for the good weather.. Are you sure you can keep the pannels shiney before you complete the build?? Personalty I'd keep them protected and polish after, I know that I would scratch them before I finished and hence left the plastic coating on the panels till IVA time..

I have to say that from experience polishing bare aluminium bodywork (and especially keeping it looking good) will drive you mad once the car is being driven........... ok, admittedly I tried to keep a racecar that was driven in all weathers shiny BUT if you're bothered about it being mirror finish then you'll spend more time polishing than you do driving no matter what you use!

Paint or powder coat all the way for me was I to do it all again!..... people will mention stonechips etc but it's much easier to touch up a stonechip with paint and get it looking decent than it is to polish one out of bare aluminium.......
