Kia Rio III --- any known major problems
britishtrident - 5/3/10 at 01:29 PM

Latest Kia Rio -- know somebody looking at buying one, anybody know any problems , checked the tinterweb for horror stories and found nothing, not a thing --- OK this must be partly because they stay in the dealers hands for a long time because of the 7 year warranty

Update only comment I have had from other forums is boring but good which is much as I thought --- a very good car for people that don't really bother much about cars.

Nothing else in the size range competes price wise and it is NCAP 4

At a scrappage price of just over £5,655 on road with a 7 year warranty it makes a lot of sense for a busy single mum.

A guy at work has got a kia CEED, as well built as my old 2005 golf. Looks nice, drives good. Great reviews everywhere.

Nothing but praise for them, main dealer servicing is a little pricey but worth it for the 7 years piece of mind.

We got a Picanto about 18 months ago. Very nice little car, excellent turning circle and visibility. All it really needs is a turbo.

Depreciation will probably be high, but not a problem if you're keeping it a while.

My wife has an 06 Rio CRDI had it from new no probs and would have another. Dash is a little bland but all in all a good little car.

My sister has the 1.4 petrol and feels the same.

Older step-daughter was originally looking at a Picanto but I pointed out the NCAP results just scrapped 3 stars where as the Rio easily passes with 4 stars. A thousand quid difference price between the two but a lot more roome and a decent sized engine.

She has had her Fiesta for 13 years so depreciation dosen't really come into it

the kia CEED's are holding their money very well due to the piece of mind they offer.
