as above really.a mate'll be scrapping his mondeo when the tax runs out.is it worth pulling the engine out before it gets weighed in or not worth the hassle?

I got what I thought was a bagain a week or two ago. A 2.0 silvertop for £50.
When I checked eBay, most zetecs had sold for between £50 and £70...

Probably not what you wanted to hear....

Ive been watching on ebay, £100-50 doesnt seem unfair. There are some 'but now' for more but they move slowly.

As i understand it:

silvertop, 91-98
blacktop, 98-04
duratech, 04-

So 'r' is a bit borderline. Silvertop has a (silvery) alumium rocker cover. Blacktop has a (black) plastic rockercover

For the right price i might even be interested in it, only half an hour away in tarporley.
