Are trains exempt from IVA?
gingerprince - 7/3/10 at 11:39 AM

Just watched Peppa Pig with my 3 year old, and Grandpa Pig built a small train with car wheels and took them for a ride on the roads.

Was he doing this illegally and setting a bad example, or are trains exempt from IVA?

For transporting pigs he'd have registered it as an agricultural vehicle, which AFAIK don't require IVA.
Did he fill it with red diesel?

I think you'll find the "o" us superfluous, it's quite clearly "dine-saur, raaaaur."

They do need an IVA of sorts.

A mate of mine runs a plant division for a rail contractor and part of that involves inventing new bits of kit to do clever tasks. They have to go off for a test before they can be used on the network.

I think you're taking the thread far too seriously Stevie.

On a more serious note - how on earth did Brum get through SVA with that dangerous starter handle (or was Brum pre-SVA built)???

I hope he fitted his windscreen after SVA and takes it off again for MOT. No wipers. Instant fail....

you no what brum looks like he might pass IVA without the windscreen, the cycle wings are well positioned, would pass emission, no sharp edges....

I think Mr Anal IVA might refuse to test that on the grounds that he cant physically get in it!

i was only thinking the other day that grandad pig must have a massive garage / workshop. so far i reckon hes got a car a camper the worlds biggest lawn mower and a boat.
and just for the record i think george is a right spoilt kid always cries until he gets his own way.

and more off topic do we reckon peppa would make a nice bacon sandwich.

Followed by George being shown a Dinosaur.

Waaaaahhhhhh !!!!!!!!!

We're out of the Peppa Pig / Angelina Ballerina phase now.
Having said that, if I see another episode of Hannah Monfeckintana, I think I'll spew.

Just to chuck my 2p in on a slightly more serious note,

Skip wagons,

Dustbin lorries

Barge boards on arctics, just to name a few, IVA, SVA safety etc 100% backing but how the hell do these get on the road considering people have failed these tests for not having correct radius on the rear reflector lenses embedded in between lights that are radius'd correctly for instance ?

BTW roast pork for dinner today, very nice it was to.

Yeah, that lawnmower holding all the traffic up, the huge rotating blade with no guarding (why didn't it burst their ball).
Don't get me started on Mrs Rabbit. She's got her fingers in so many pies, she must make a mint.
