Hi, Out with the newish SLR at the weekend and I took a few shots of my Dad driving the MNR round Surrey. Hopefully he will be able to return the favour and get some of me one day. I know a few of you guys are into your photography so any recommendations on technique etc please comment

Really like the car, looks very good. I particularly like the way all the front of the MNR is enclosed and there are holes for the stearing etc.

No comments on the photography I'm afraid as I'm not a buff.

Im only jelous cos I was stuck visiting the family rather than enjoying the first rays of proper sunshine all year!

Thanks Chasmon, the cut outs at the front are something we both really like about the MNR. It was a tricky job and not quite perfect but like the pics show its quite clean from a distance and factory looking.

Smiling in an open top car only results in a mouthful of insects, bee stings and the occasional pheasant

PS please anyone feel free to comment i just meant for any photo minded people for critism to make the next batch better

You managed to get out at the weekend then Nick, any twitchy moments on the damp/dirty roads?

Shouldn't you have been spending time with the wife or did you buy the car for her as a present?

Who set your suspension up? I'd expect to see more rake than that.

Hey great photos, the colour of the car in the first pic really stands out! If you want to give slightly more impression of speed, think ing of the last photo, experiment with your shutter times.

This photo was from harewood hillclimb and was as much shutter as i could handle before making the car blurry!





You certainly have an eye for it and good editing skills, keep it up!

In all honesty apart from the subject matter, they aren't the best photos. I appreciate you've run them through photoshop to try and make them better, but they are neither highlighting the car, or the scenery. One or the other should be the focus of the shot and compose it around that.

Tim, I noticed that too. The setup is still pretty much what we had after sva, i set it up myself and at the time took no consideration for driver weight as you can see. I have been meaning to spend more time on it but ive been a big girl and kept out of the garage while its been cold

Dezee - they look stunning! Could i have made the pics better from what i had or is it the location thats letting it down? I do find it hard to find nice locations but this was quite a quick practice shoot. How could i highlight the car in this sort of driving shot with rather bland scenery?

Iscmatt - Another shot that looks great, there is very little feeling of speed mainly as my dad was doing 20-30mph just so i could get the shots in as i took the wrong lens, my 70-300 and being just next to the road i couldnt really pan as I wanted too. But i had tried my other 18-70mm lens at trackday and couldnt get close enough to the action but i forgot id be so close to the car for this shoot. I think i settled with 1/125 - 1/160th which imo would have been perfect if he had been moving at his normal driving pace.
