Sorted

but is it a single seater or a sports racing car ?

It can't possibly be a two seater, where would two sets of legs go ?

If it's a single seater, it's an odd one.

I'm not saying it's without merit, but what is it for ?

P.S. I saw the pics on uphill racers.
My first thought was, that it was quite nice.
My 2nd thought was that many of the ideas are the same as the 1995 Rotor JT7

Only, it isn't.

It's in as a sports libre.

It's a classic case of rules interpretation.
The value of hillclimb spec Radicals just went a tiny bit wobbly.

wasn't the libre class created for cars that didn't fit into any other class?
and isn't that particular one a hill climb car, with beam cutting thingy on the front?

zilspeed - 24/3/10 at 07:04 PM

Yep, it's a hillclimber.

Sports Libre cars I can think of include Radicals, Mid engined Mini, Imp powered FWD Reliant Kitten, OMS Sports cars.

Muppets, they've put the roll bar on back to front

i'm thinking of the ones at knockhill in the 90s right enough, they were cool

Sorry for the repost... i dont visit the mid engine section often!

As previously said, it's a 'Sports Car'. Ie 2-seater (haha...) open car, which usually run in the Sports Libre section.

I'm not really sure where it fits in their lineup, is it meant to be a carbon-monocoque replacement for the SR8?

It seems to be an attempt at designing a serious competitor where, traditionally, the cars have sometimes been a bit less serious concepts.
That sounds quite disrespectfull of a class where Radicals, the Pilbeam MP43, Chevron B19s and various other cars have previously competed, but I think I know what I mean.

Anyway, I suspect that Sports Libre will see some interesting developments in the next year or two.

Thats if they sell many. I'm guessing it'll be just as expensive as the force single seaters, but won't be competitive in the T12RO and not road legal either...
