Hi most venues would put you in race class with aeroscreen if car has mot reverse should not matter ask club members

Technically with no reverse it is not road legal (from a MSA perspective) so it will be something like B7

From the 7Oaks regs

Category B: Modified Limited/Specialist Production Cars (S.10.10.3/4)
(excluding Group B Sports Cars, GT1 Sports Cars and World Rally Cars)
7. Up to 1400cc
8. From 1401cc to 2000cc
9. 2001cc and over

Hi

Yup as per the last couple above.

It was changed for this year to - all roadgoing classes require reverse gear.
But it will for your IVA if you're building it as a road car anyway.

Most of the country requires a screen too - but not all, especially down south, so check with a local organiser on that one.
(If this changes to one requirement nationwide it'll probably be to No Screen rqd, possibly as soon as next season)

If you're not building a road car, then build it to Mod Prod regs anyway, just ensure you build in the right spec roll cage and 6 point belts in that case.

If it's a road car it'll just need a diagonally reinforced roll hoop, with back stays and 4 point belts.

You'd probably end up in modified although that would be a bit harsh for a road going car and I think we'd turn a blind eye in the Welsh Championship.

There could be very little difference between Roadgoing and modified Locaterfields this season, now that roadgoing can run 1b tyres. You'll be more competitive in roadgoing but it will mean you should run a reverse box, I suspect they'll be checking more thoroughly now that the regs have been revised.

although the Midlands Speed Championship has reverted to 1A apparently!

so will an aero screen count as a screen???

i only have an entry level liscence and i know that for some classes you need a full liscence....im fitting an electric reverse for now.......

Nope, only in the saloon and production sports car classes.
The specialist production (i.e. Kits!) are still 1A or 1B, competitors choice.
(so we're all on 1b's!)

An aero screen doesn't count as a full screen.

But
- seeing as you're in Cornwall don't think that'll be a problem as your regional series don't require one - so I believe.
(It's just a North West thing allegedly, certainly I carry an aero screen in the van when venturing south!)

You'll need a 'Non Race National B' licence for you in your current car.
It's only when you get into the larger single seaters or sports libre of over 2L that you need a National A.

EDIT:-
checked on the ASWMC web site, no requirement for a screen in classes B1,2 or 3 (you'll be in one of these) noted in the championship regs.
