As title
i have got a Volvo V50 estate 06 plate and over the last two weeks iv'e noticed a lot of road noise from the front of car, had a set of new
tyres fitted today thinking that would cure problem as old tyres had got very worn but noise is even worse now.
No judder or wobble on steering, any ideas before i take to garage,
Check the front bearings.
are you sure its road noise? how many miles have you covered? could be some other mechanical noise. bearings have been mentioned and are most likely the source if its not the tyres but it could also be inner arch rubbing on the tyre (has happened to me in past when the retaining screws came loose and the inner arch got pushed to the tyre by the air pressure above 50mph, took me weeks to figure it out)
Wheel bearing --- but check for any missing seals and grommets first
60000 miles, does have sport suspension and noise is loudest between 20 and 40 MPH
You havent got the stereo loud enough!!!
As said, well worth checking out the wheel bearings by jacking the wheel up and feeling for free play / rumbling when spun.
