Leaking oil on the road.
ash_hammond - 26/4/10 at 04:09 PM

Evening chaps.

A neighbour of mine has a car which is leaking a considerable amount of oil on the road when its parked up at night. It’s a red brick road and it looks a complete arse!

He has a drive but in my opinion he is not using as it he does not want oil stains on the drive as he is selling the house.

Instead he is going to leave us with his mess when he moves.

Is there anything I can do about this?

He is not an approachable person. Another neighbour once approached him about a non-related issue and just got verbally abused.

How about put a catch pan under his car at night, and in the morning pour it over his drive, if he ask what you are doing just say 'I'm returning your property'

Put an old wok/ under his car in the middle of the night, or cat litter to absorb the oil. If you were a vindictive person you could then put it on his drive- but as you are not you wouldn`t do that!

Edit - beaten to it!

That may be worth it for the comedy value!

Drain all the oil from his car overnight so that it seizes 15 miles down the road, away from your house and the red brick road!!

We had exactly the same problem in every detail a few years back --- not really a lot you can do about it, although allowing oil to leak on a public highway is an offense for good reason gettting the police to act on it for a leak in a cul de sac might be difficult and not worth the trouble it might cause you.

Once he is gone the oil stains will fade from the block paving after 18months or so.

pour oil all over his drive.

Get a baby syringe full of used oil, and whack it out to shoot it a good distance. Then you can do it from your front door and not risk getting rumbled!

Sounds like drain most of his oil....

Or there's these weedkiller pellets you can get, and spell out "park your oily car on your own drive" in dead burnt grass

Why not just forget it and think of something worth while?
