I'm thinking they would be great fun in a straight line, but horrendous in the corners... can anyone who has driven (or should that be ridden)
one confirm or deny?
PS - I'm thinking about conventional trikes with the single-wheel at the front.
Sort of!
When I was a student I had a Bond MkF with 1 wheel at front. It was front wheel drive with a 250cc 2 stroke engine.
Being an ever optomistic student I tuned the engine with kart bits and as it was incredibly light (I could easily lift it) wheelspin made me thinl I
was the fastest thing on the road.
Both front corners were scraped on the underside. If I took it too far, as was my want then it would pivot and brake on the front corner and end up
going backwards.
No seat belt, airbag, roll protection - just lucky to still be here I guess.
Still fancy a three wheeler with two at the front though but I would add a very strong roll bar
Hi Scootz
Best to approach any bend or corner at the right speed and cruise round on a neutral throttle.
Depending on the set up they can suffer from understeer.
That trike has two bl**dy great Mickey Thompsons wanting to go straight on and a bike tyre trying to take directional control.
I bet it aquaplanes on the back like a b*st*rd in the wet.

having a bit of a secret history as a 'proper' biker I've riden a few...... in the right circumstances they're great - that is cruising in the sun on a road with little traffic and gentle curves...... as I say riden a few - never wanted my own though.......

Not owned one but I have ridden one. You're right about the corners, the one I rode was a hardtail and didn't lean at all, which just feels wrong.
Hi Russell
They can feel worse with suspension!
If they're not stiffened right up they lean towards the outside of the bend - not nice.
