After my thread the other day re the strange noise my Jag was making, i pulled the wheel off today and had a closer look. The wheel bearing looked
fine and there was no excessive play in the wheel but when we took the pads off, a 4cm ish chunk fell out and it had broken off the inside pad
friction material.
In the hope this is what was making the noise, i will change the pads but figured, as i was changing them, i may aswell upgrade them.
Does anyone have any experience with greenstuff pads?
Might be worth checking that the broken part hasn't fooked the disc, any idea what caused it to come off?
Btw, how goes the nosecone modding?
I think the bang i heard might have been a stone or something hitting it and causing it to break as i cant see anything else wrong with the car. The
disk looks fine. That was the first thing i checked.
I havn't got round to doing anything with the cone yet as have been sorting out other stuff like my grandads clutch and the Jag
Hoping to get some time in a couple of weeks to start with the fibreglassing
I used yellowstuff pads, 1.7 ton car on track late breaking, worked perfectly.
Cold breaking is good, after an application it is excellent.
