Mini's have never done it for me personally.

Always wanted one of those (minisprint) the GRP ones were made by Hawk originally (until BMW sued them - along with most of the rest of the classic
mini industry), the moulds have passed around a couple of times since then.
I'd put a full cage in, but otherwise wouldn't worry about strength, plenty of GRP monocoques around and SVA/IVA are quite happy with
them.
If you really want a minisprint it's best, for future value, to get a new shell and have it cut down by Neville Trickett who's building them
again from his home in France (cutting down then mini was his idea originally). But a shell that doesn't rust does have some attractions
