Hi all,
The wife has got a Peugeot 206cc (hairdresser model!) 2.0l 16 valve.
She came home the other day with it overheating and steam coming from a small hole in the radiator. I fitted a new rad, refilled the system, bled it
thoroughly, and fired it up. It initially came up to 90 degrees, then dropped back to around 80 degrees as the stat opened. After that it went back up
to 90 degrees and kept on steadily rising. It got up to almost 110 degrees and was still rising so I turned it off. At this point the fan had still
not kicked in.
I removed both the fan relays and the low speed one was knackered. I have replaced both relays with new items and have checked the fan on an
independent 12V source and it works ok. The fan circuit fuse is also ok.
I fired it up again and it is still doing exactly the same thing and the fan not kicking in. Also, the hi speed fan is not kicking in when you turn
the Air Con on which I understand it should do. Could that indicate a problem with the low speed fan circuit? Will the high speed fan circuit only
kick in if the low speed circuit is live? If that makes sense.
What else could be the problem, any suggestions guys? Apart from don't buy French that is!

Knackered resistor in the low speed fan circuit.

Ugh same fan set up as the Rover 75 you can get replacement wirewound ressistors off ebay but I use ones from ebay shops that sell spares for valve
radios ---- 2ohm 50watt should do the job --- but hire wattage would be better.
