Anybody have any experience of these ?

looking for pointers really . anything good or bad

PSpirine - 26/5/10 at 09:36 PM

which one? w140 or W220 etc.

Either way, cheap as chips now and the 140s are AWESOME.

from experience i know that you can keep the warning triangle on all the way up to the national speed limit. you can also keep it on going round roundabouts. never had to live with one for more than a day so couldn't pass any comment other than that they go like poo off a shiny shovel. as for reliability i didnt manage to kill it so it must be better than the current e class.

w140 .

obviously 5 litre , 1998 variety

nick205 - 26/5/10 at 10:10 PM

Pimpy, but that wouldn't put me off

PSpirine - 26/5/10 at 10:14 PM

I've only had experience with a W140 S600 so slightly different spec levels - double glazed windows HELLO! - but the fives aren't far off.

The torque and build quality is astonishing. They do look a bit pimpish though, but in the right colour don't look cheap or dated.

How much??

fantastic car............cheap to buy.........effing expensive to run.

even if you can replace any parts yourself, everything is electronic. AND EXPENSIVE

suspension, brakes, engine (obviously). if the suspension looks a bit lop sided run a mile!!!!

skinned knuckles - 27/5/10 at 08:56 AM

bullet proof. only weak spot can be the suspension. cracking engine, crap economy. all in all a great big chunck of german engineering for very little money if you get a good one

Volvorsport - 27/5/10 at 10:54 PM

holy cow

its a licence loosing machine if it ever were !!!

the most ive ever spent on a car upfront - it does exactly what i want out of a daily driver.

Volvorsport - 13/6/10 at 03:52 PM

well , 1200 miles later and its still in one piece .

time for a 'for sale' advert in the local....

Ninehigh - 13/6/10 at 07:46 PM
