He seems a nice bloke Jake - he was giving an interview at Silverstone last year, and my mate just went to take his photo, he stopped who he was talking to so my mate could get a better photo.

So McLaren just managed to get near RBs and Rbs are not running an F-duct.

But McLaren have definitely made strides to catching the Red Bulls. It looked like Lewis was going to do it on the last flying lap.
Regarding the F Duct, Red Bull had been testing their version of the F duct in the practise sessions but abandoned it.
Thus, if they had have run with an F-Duct, McLaren would have likely out qualified them.
The same could be said that McLaren are now pushing Red Bull and that is even without the extra "vertical exhaust duct". Someone will
always have extra bits on thir F1 cars, surely that's the nature of the beast.
