My new garage workshop just has a concrete floor at the moment and i would like to protect it with something to avoid oil/dirt stains and to make it
look smarter.
We have had a quote for some epoxy resin stuff to be put down for £1500 but was wondering if anyone could reccomend anything else?

Look at it this way, if your car is in the garage, it will cover up most of the stains, and if it is out, you're having too much fun to care about them
I think it's a business rather than a home garage.
Seal and paint?
i would get that red paint stuff they use in car garages. i have it in mine. it was done when i moved in and i can just mop up mess and leaves nothin
behind.

I've used screwfix own concrete floor paint. Smells rather evil (heavy solvent content) and of course you can't walk / drive /leave anything on it whilst it's drying (48 hours in a rather cold autumn) but it's lasting quite nicely. A bit scuffed in a few places but better than plain old concrete.
A second for the paint, put it down a couple of years ago and seems to be lasting quite well!
I used Ronseals dimond hard floor paint. It hasn't been down long so i can't say how long it lasts but it looks really good. I PVAed the floor with a few coats first though, apparently this will make it last alot longer.
GAVINC has put carpet down in our barn
I would recomend clear concrete sealer followed by Floor paint
Seal with diluited PVA. Cheap and works.
Paint if you want.
Yes used floor paint cheap works well. Currently have a damp problem so just put down some ribbed rubber (Machine mart where the cheapest..) smells
odd though!..

I doubt the floor paints you can buy over the counter are up to day to day use in a garage business - at least if you don't want to be patch re-coating it weekly.
Carpet on mine, and i just give it a hoover now and then.
