Just wanted to get thoughts on whether anyone has any recommendations or had issues with:

CLK 320 Petrol (05 plate shape)
E 320 Diesel (05 plate shape)

I'm swithering on either with an outside option of E320 petrol or 6 series BMW

look out for rust on all four arches and the bottom of the doors. mercs rust really quickly !!

I have an '04 270CDi E-Class. I do 30k miles a year and would recommend it to anyone.

It is just coming up to 90k on the clock. I get it serviced at a merc specialist for around £150 a go and the only think that mine has needed is a rear spring.

It does seem to eat tyres though.

No signs of rust on mine anywhere.

The 320 is a bit more powerful but the 6 cylinder sounds better than the 5 in mine and the mpog is not that much worse. I have been getting an average of 41mpg over the last 60k miles. The other thing is the tax is more on the 320.

If I were to swap for anything it would be a M sport 530d. They seem to have more toys but bring strong money.
