Screen mount radio aerials
r1_pete - 23/6/10 at 11:53 AM

Has anyone tried one of these screen mount aerials? not a lot of money to 'waste' if its no good, but if someone has any experiance I'd be interested.

Or, any other methods of mounting an aerial without drilling, and no heated screen.

Cheers.

Pete.

I dont know how those things mount, but when I looked into it... fitting them without making it look hideous is difficult..

Wish the TVR I fitted one in the headlining... it is fibreglass through so doenst stop the radio waves much..

Can you hide something under a wing or something?

I have my DAB aerial wedge between the back seat head rests. Thought there would be problems with no ground plane but so far its working fine.

TMS in digital sound is superb

I thought they'd look very DIY, thought about in the back hatch.

Car's all steel so even under a wing would be shielded.

Mmmm DAB radio in the car that would be nice, trouble is the Jag is so loud I wouldn't hear it, only got a radio to fill a hole in the console, and cos its there I'd like it to work.

There are better looking versions than that, my Mums Bmw had one that connected on a small sticker onto the window and was flat, sat next to the tax disc holder and wasn't noticable......then she didn't notice it, and god only knows why shed decided to cut it off! But while it was attached it got good reception and wasn't noticable, think they cost about £10-15.

i tried one of those once, load of rubbish.
ended up using the heated rear screen which doesn't help you much

my bmw (1995 e36) had an ariel in the roof lining somewhere, with a metal roof. think its in the rear passenger side?
maybe get a hold of one of them? it works very well
