I'm thinking of getting a W124 to run on veg oil (have run a 306 in the past, and I've got a hell of a lot left of it).

Then I got thinking.. the W124 CE (coupes) look bloody sweet, yet W124 never came with the Turbodiesel engine. Whereas the W210 did. From what I understand the engines are pretty much the same between W124 and W210 aside from the turbocharger. The W210's also came with a 5-speed auto box, is that correct?

Anybody know how easy it is to take out the 2.3 petrol engine and box out of a 230CE and replace it with a 3.0 TD engine/box out of a W210?

If you leave it long enough, the engine will take its self out piece by piece.

If I was you, I'd go and look on the Benzworld forum, there's loads of guys running veg oil in there Mercs.

From what I know of Mercs(we've owned several), you can swap the engine and box, with little trouble, and it should be a bolt in swap.
