Taxing on-line can be very taxing

I just tried to tax my Corsa on-line (it's been sat on the drive for two weeks since it ran out , and I never got a reminder )
And it come up with this -

quote:

Unfortunately, because of the tax class of the vehicle or recent changes to the vehicle record, you are currently unable to apply for a tax disc or declare SORN using this service.

WTF ? ? ? It's just a normal , run of the mill tin-top , which I've owned for six months and have all the right paperwork in my name

Id tax it tomorrow at a PO if you can, if not then call them, and consider a SORN declaration. They will fine you as soon as they can, not sure how long grace you are allowed, but it wont be many days now.

Trouble is I cant get to a post office tomorrow , and I need to drive it tomorrow
Otherwise it's a trip to the centre of Derby in the rush hour in the rain - with no rad fan

You get no grace at all, and don't try to argue with them that you never received a reminder - they'll just tell you that ignorance is no excuse.

As said, make the PO your first port of call in the morning.

I've been in the same position before and nothing came of it, I just kept my head down and sorted it out quick sharp!

Just tried to SORN it - and it wont let me
So...........I cant tax it , and I cant sorn it , and I cat `make the post office my first port of call' in the morning as I will be at work before it opens

No matter how much I hassle my insurance company i'm still not on the motor insurance database - so I constantly get pulled by the old bill and havn't been able to tax my car online since they introduced the service

Similarly 2gether (or whoever they deal with) failed to put my car on the database. When I reinsured with them they did manage to sort it out.
