I've just popped over to France to have the car serviced. Renault dealer price for the service 126 Euros, UK dealer same job, £265!

We took one of the special daytrip offers at considerably less than the price difference between the two. Not only that, we enjoyed a superb menu ouvrier 3 course lunch for 10Euros and stocked up with goodies.

The French have got so many things right
