Lets hope they make it

"Tata Motors CEO, Carl-Peter Forster, has confirmed that Jaguar has been given the go-ahead to build its long-awaited Boxster-rivalling roadster.
Speaking to German trade paper Automobilwoche, the boss of Jaguar Land Rover's parent company revealed that the so-called 'F-Type' - a spiritual successor to the Jaguar E-Type - will form part of a new model offensive for JLR."

unfortunately it can't look like that (if thats the same model at the birmingham auto show about 10 years ago). Spoke to a friend who worked for jag and they said ...... it could never go into production as it couldn't pass the european tests to make it legal.

(its late and for the life of me i can't remember what those tests where).

They have taken some styling queues from the Sylva J15.
Jeremy should sue Jaguar for intellectual property theft!

Fastlane Daily had pictures of what I'm assuming the New F type will look like in the last two weeks. It had a front end like the New XJ I believe it was this picture

Apparantly its going to be related to a new X-type, so I recon it's going to be more Convertible Compact Exec than Boxter rival.

Maybe its just me but I prefer the lines of the ealier xk8/r's to the later ones.

The first picture is clearly based on these.

As above, great looking car!

I was talking to someone the other day about watching that Clarkson video, iirc it was shot at an older airfield type place and he went on and on that it sounded like a Spitfire, but also commented that it was only one-of-two and couldn't be made exactly due to stuff like the screen.

I remember being pretty impressed as it was a full on auto but had enough power to be slid everywhere...

The first one was a concept car (XK180) based on the old XK a few years before they announced the new XK. I think underneath it was just an unlimited XKR so would do 180 mph.

The one morcus has posted is the new F type which aparantly will be going into production (yay!).

Both look good

Tiffany Dell drove the original XK180 concept on Top Gear when Jag first made it... i've even got it on video I think!
