I'll shortly be needing 2 front hubs. I know they are 5-stud and have a slightly odd PCD of 119.1mm (4.7 inches) and are intended for a 17 inch wheel with ET44...

What other info do I need to before I approach someone to machine a set for me? Type of upright I'll be using, wheel centre hole diameter... anything else!?

Also, does anyone offer 'blank' hubs for popular uprights that can be drilled to suit?

size (diamiter) of the studs, overall diamiter of the hub.....

better to do a proper drawing of the new hybrid hub then you'll see what you missing - I just did something similar for my brothers bike (or at least a tiny version of them - sid's making them at the moment)

But can you get decent tyres in 17" that really grip?

Back to the hubs you need to decide what the scrub radius is to be and what the offset available on the wheels is (assuming you are using 1 piece wheels) to determine where the mounting face is wrt the back of the inner wheel bearing I think.

Hmm it's difficult saying it in words a sketch would be better!!

The best thing is a fully dimensioned drawing of what you want, failing that something close to it as a physical item...

scrub radius is determined by factors besides the hub (i dont think hub has anything to do with it but i may be wrong), mainly wheel offset and the upright geometry.

I see what v8kid is saying, but if you havent got uprights yet theres no point worrying about it. You could also modify it via wheel offset, so dont let scrub radius influence major decisions on the hub design.
