New Morgan

Looks abit too Bugatti-ish at the front imo.

quote:

This is the new Morgan Eva GT. It is a four-seat, luxury GT sportscar and as you can quite clearly see, it is cool.

It is also like no Morgan before it. Far from being made out of wood, iron or the bones of peasants, the Eva GT is instead a podium for advanced materials and motorsports know-how. The body panels are made from aluminium, the chassis (aluminium) was honed in the GT3 motorsport class, and the engine is of award-winning stock, courtesy of BMW.

A twin-turbo 3-litre straight six pumping out 306bhp powers the rear wheels via a manual six-speeder or an auto, and helps propel the Eva GT from 0-62mph in an estimated 4.5 seconds. The company reckons the GT will hit 170mph, while returning 40mpg on the combined cycle, thanks in part to a kerb weight of 1,250kgs.

Interested? The first 100 cars are allocated for a 2010 production run. Click through to see how the GT went from sketch to flesh.

mookaloid - 17/8/10 at 09:56 AM

I quite like that

Auto express linky

blakep82 - 17/8/10 at 10:02 AM

yes

nick205 - 17/8/10 at 10:22 AM

Yup - that does it for me

I think the design is quite clever as it retains some definite Morgan'ness along the nose and bonnet.

omega0684 - 17/8/10 at 10:51 AM

looks a bit aeon epona-ish to me ? ? ? ?

jabbahutt - 17/8/10 at 10:56 AM

as above the side view is particular Epona ish, maybe someone from the Morgan design team reads this forum

MakeEverything - 17/8/10 at 10:58 AM

Looks like a stretched Veyron-Aston.

gottabedone - 17/8/10 at 11:21 AM

The front looks set to chomp on a few children and small animals !

Wouldn't grumble if one was sat on my drive though

scootz - 17/8/10 at 11:22 AM

I'd have one! But then I've always liked Morgans!

Mr Whippy - 17/8/10 at 11:28 AM

nope

don't like it, whole point of Morgans is the swept wings and traditional styling. That has none, Fail.

gottabedone - 17/8/10 at 11:46 AM

Fink it might look daft with running boards though

RIE - 17/8/10 at 12:06 PM

Looks like a Veyron from the front, a Z4 from the sides (I thought, but I agree with the Epona comments too) and it manages to not be as ugly as either. Stunning, and I want one very much.

But with a V8 in it, not the I6

Exactly my first thoughts too......

That's 7 for, and 6 agin, mostly on appearance.

Truly, a Marmite car!!!

carpmart - 17/8/10 at 03:05 PM

Looks quite a lot like a TVR Cerbera with a big grill bolted on!

I'm not sure if that is a good or a bad thing!

perhaps, but this isn't the 40s any more! time to move up to something more modern. i like it

morcus - 18/8/10 at 12:40 AM

I quite like it, but it doesn't look like a Morgan, and its not going to made of wood?
I thought the Bugatti Veyron was 'inspired' by old Bugs like the Royale and Atlantique so a morgan designed to a simillar stratergy would look the same. I actually think thats what a Modern Lagonda Should look like (If such a thing existed) apart from the lights which make me think of Audis, and thus Idiots with Xenons who tailgate and blind you at the same time....

I like it though.

"Click through to see how the GT went from sketch to flesh"

Where was that quote taken from? Might be interesting to have a look, but the quote is a bit odd seeing as how the picture is from a cad program not a camera.
